We have held Executive Directors/Partners and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) roles in several investment management firms with full responsibility for the oversight and control of the business as well as sole responsibility for the investment management strategy, process and performance.

We have been involved in the formation of new investment management businesses as well as running existing investment management firms. In our roles, we have been responsible for activities ranging from obtaining FCA authorisation, setting up discretionary portfolio management services, selecting custodians, establishing detailed investment processes up to managing the business on an ongoing basis and running the investment function.

We have sat on Executive Committees and Investment Committees. We are very familiar with the complexity of managing a growing investment management business in an increasingly regulated environment.

As part of our roles, we have been responsible for new business development as well as managing existing client relationships. We have worked with a wide range of clients including financial planners, solicitors and accountants as well as charities, foundations and private clients.

We also have institutional fund management experience which gives us a unique perspective when selecting and assessing discretionary fund managers.

Experience with corporate actions include involvement with the Brooks Macdonald AIM flotation as well as the sale of PK Group (Financial Services/Accountancy business) to separate private equity backed buyers.
